PaperPro Privacy Policy

PaperPro is built to keep your documents private. Scanning and PDF tools work entirely on your phone. This policy explains what the app does with information, in plain words.

1. Your documents stay on your phone

Everything you create or open in PaperPro stays on your device and is never uploaded to us. That includes scans, photos, PDFs, signatures, filled forms, exam photos, ID card copies and text copied with OCR.

• Processing is on-device. Edge detection, filters, compression, OCR (text recognition), passport-photo background removal, signing and form filling all run locally on your phone.
• We have no copy. We don't run servers that receive or store your documents.
• PDF passwords are never stored. A password you type to lock or unlock a PDF is used once, on your phone, and then discarded.
• Sharing is your choice. When you share or save a file, you choose where it goes (for example WhatsApp, Gmail, Drive, or your phone's Download/Pictures folder). That app or service then handles it under its own privacy policy.

2. Permissions the app uses

• Camera: to scan documents and take exam or passport photos. Images are processed on the phone and not sent to us.
• Photos and files: only the photos or PDFs you pick with Android's picker. On Android 9 and older, storage permission is used to save files you export.
• Internet: to show ads on the Free plan (see section 3). Scanning and PDF tools work without internet.

3. Advertising (Free plan)

The Free plan shows a small banner ad provided by Google AdMob.

• What Google may collect: to show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, basic device information (model, OS version, language), approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data.
• What ads never see: your documents or their content.
• How Google uses it: see Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
• Limiting ads tracking: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• Consent: in regions where the law requires it (for example the EEA and UK), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown.
• Removing ads: PaperPro Plus removes ads entirely.

4. Purchases

When in-app purchases are available, PaperPro Plus is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. We only receive confirmation that a purchase is valid, so we can unlock Plus.

5. Accounts

This version of PaperPro has no accounts and doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number.

If we add an optional sign-in (for example to restore purchases or back up documents), we will update this policy first and explain exactly what is stored.

6. AI features

This version doesn't include AI features that send data off your phone.

If we add them, they will only run when you tap them, and this policy will be updated first to say what is sent, to whom and why.

7. Children

PaperPro is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

• Your documents live only in PaperPro's storage on your phone. You can delete any document in the app.
• Uninstalling PaperPro removes all its documents and settings from your phone.
• We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

9. Security

• Your files stay in PaperPro's private app storage, which other apps can't read.
• PDFs you lock use AES-256 encryption.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes (for example when sign-in or AI features are added), we will update this page and the effective date above. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
